Description

The second piece from the Thlostones collaboration between Animator Chi Chow and Composer Stefan Smith. The films use the Images of 19th Century Photographer Eadweard Muybridge. When approached to make a video for Stefan's track 'Thlostones', Chi was struck by the detached loneliness of the sound and the cyclical form of the composition. This feeling drew him, visually, to the photography of Muybridge. 'The cyclical form of the music made me think of Zoopraxiscopes, not only in its constant looping motion but I’ve always felt them to be ambiguous, displaced and with an anxious intensity. Like an acceptance of the narrative but also a need to break from it'
