Description

This artwork by Bassil Taleb was created as a unique generative piece to accompany The Xenotext (Book 2) by Christian Bök, inspired specifically by the poem The Dark, Pale Meadow. The generative algorithm reflects the poem's vivid imagery and themes, translating them into dynamic, evolving visuals. The artwork is designed to be responsive to screen size and orientation, generating a new output every 10 minutes. Interaction is possible by double-clicking (or double-tapping on mobile devices) to toggle full-screen mode and by pressing "p" to generate a postcard-sized output. Technical Details: Format: HTML file, runs offline in any modern browser. Interaction: Responsive to screen size; generates new visuals at timed intervals. Generative Design: Each output is unique and exclusive to this limited edition. This piece is one of a series of unique outputs generated by the algorithm, ensuring every edition holder has a distinct and personalized version. Edition size: 1/1/16 These 16 outputs (editions 61–76) extend the original set of 60 (editions 1–60), which were distributed as physical accompaniments to the special edition of The Xenotext (Book 2).
