Wired Couple [with table-top truncated octahedra] is one of the key image variants of the theme and concept that comprise Victor Acevedo’s Wired Couple series. This collection of images was created gradually over time from 1988 through 1991. Relative to other images in the series this one presents a more distilled arrangement of digital objects that appear to sit on the metaphorical table. It’s a nice example of the artist’s use of a random graphic interplay between flat shaded and wire-frame computer generated forms. Acevedo has said about the Wired Couple series, “When I put together this piece and its iterations, besides the technical aspects of my hybrid media workflow; I was thinking about a computer graphic intervention into photographic space using various polyhedral forms. Pictures of people enclosed or interpenetrated by ancient polyhedra; for me spoke to a timeless harmonic symmetry in juxtaposition with the temporal fluidity of human relationships which sometimes include the entropy of emotionally charged mental constructs and conflicts.” Digital File: JPG file format: 2778 x 2160 pixels
