Description

In this reinterpretation of The Birth of Venus, Venus emerges once again, not from a divine sea, but from a contemporary landscape saturated with consumption, money, and spectacle. In the universe of MentalNoise, the goddess appears surrounded by figures who document, observe, and negotiate her body. The work exposes the cultural duality surrounding the female body: while these men constantly scroll through images of naked women on their phones, their voices on social media present themselves as virtuous and morally impeccable. The new “cherubs” are no longer celestial beings, but intermediaries of desire, those who monetize, censor, and exploit the female image. Between gazes, banknotes, and masks, Venus is born again into a world where the female body continues to be simultaneously worshipped, consumed, and judged.
