Description

Please Stand By utilizes the iconic SMPTE color bars template and changes the palette to bring into question viewers perceptions surrounding "standards of color." An offshoot of my original series, I Got Something To Say, adds an additional more literal message. Please Stand By I Need 50K To Buy My Meds,Recently a new controversial drug to battle Alzheimers was approved by the FDA. The drug, Aduhelm, created by pharmaceutical company Biogen, is expected to cost $56,000 for a year of treatment for one patient. For a disease that targets mainly the elderly retired community this is a disaster for both patients and government subsidized programs such as medicare. Not only could this drug essentially bankrupt medicare, but patients themselves could also see tens of thousands in screening and administration costs even after their insurer picks up the medication bill, forcing some to go back to work just to afford treatment. Worst of all the drug hasn’t even been strongly proven to be effective. You want to live? Sure just give me $50,000! Incorporates pharmaceutical company Biogen’s color palette.
