Description

In Javanese Wayang (Shadow Puppet), a Gunungan (translation: mountain) gives the viewer a clue on the story's setting. It has two sides: the "Tree of Life" side to symbolise the world and it's abundance, and a "Chaos" side for wars and hell; A reminder that life is a cycle, and after the hardships, there will be joyful & peaceful times to be enjoyed. Batik motifs used in this animation is also my wish for those who decide to collect this piece: megamendung (clouds, for patience & life), truntum (flower or sparkling stars, for growing love), and beras kutah (spilled rice, for abundance).
