From wiki:
Liturgischetrauergesangsklage is a computational and generative musical style that combines traditional mourning and funerary music drawn from syncretic traditions, with automated computational techniques from electronic music and artificial intelligence. Originally a traditionalist Catholic movement emerging from the Regensburger Domspatzen sex abuse case, Liturgischetrauergesangsklage pursued the difficult, often futile task of reconciling musical traditions newly associated with child rape to the unrelated modernist traditions of serialism, musique concrète, minimalism and other avant garde techniques. Also influenced by death metal/dance rock fusion music produced contemporaneously by bands such as the Eagles of Death Metal, Liturgischetrauergesangsklage first found a footing in Bavarian discos circa 2013, following Pope Benedict XVI renouncing the papacy. The style would later influence post-metallic dirgecore, doomcore and digicore musical styles, particularly in francophone regions of Canada. In the early 2020s, a robust underground scene emerged in Salt Lake City Utah, USA, often in the same venues as emerging bluegrass punk and jive revival music. As with Latter Day Saints sacred music, the former share musical foundations in 18th-century Wesleyan traditions, all of which Liturgischetrauergesangsklage leverages as source material to be “utterly” transformed, or even ignored, via the potentialities of conceptual arrangements, duration, “entrainment passive aggression”, proceduralism, and particularly in “compositions” created by computational techniques ranging from simple random number generators to feedforward, backpropagation neural networks. Liturgischetrauergesangsklage tends to focus on themes of mortality, cults, abuse, personal tragedy, and metaphysical delusion in general. In 2017, American evangelist Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church, an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist church in Tempe, Arizona, stated “When you go to a concert of Liturgischetrauergesangsklage, somebody might get killed, you know, you’re worshiping death, and then, all of a sudden, people start dying!” It was widely reported at the time that pastor Anderson had no fucking clue what the hell he was even talking about. As of 2022, more and more projects can be found on low power FM radio in remote locations.
