I search in my past for vestiges of a great ancestral wisdom. Indigenous peoples that were razed to the ground. I hear a heartbeat. It is their heart beating deep in the earth; their arteries and veins extend like roots that emerge and flourish. They are there, in the earth, in the water of the river that flows in meek calm, in the sun that filters through the foliage of the leaves, in the soft wind that caresses my face. They are there beating and making the earth vibrate. In this work I represent some Venezuelan petroglyphs, such as those found in the Vigirima River Valley in the basin of Lake Valencia, Carabobo state.
