Description

"Video Lab 03 / Greenhouse" The Synthesis Academy (5032) 1422 x 1016px, mp4, 1m 20s /// Of all the Video Labs that comprise the Synthesis Academy's sprawling campus, perhaps the most beloved is the "Greenhouse" Lab. There's something about the presence of plants that has inspired video synthesis artists for generations. After all, both video artists and plants thrive in carefully tended ecologies. The Synthesis Academy was founded by Sky Goodman in 5027 as an interplanetary program for video wizards. The Offshore Firm proudly supports and manages the Academy's prestigious endowment. /// Metarealistic game photography depicting hypercorporate, antisocial, and sometimes liminal virtual environments. This scene was created using "The Life Stage: Virtual House," a building design simulator released in 1993 for the 3DO console. Although the game has fallen into obscurity, it was notably ahead of its time for its use of photographic gameplay elements within an immersive 3D virtual space. Scenes created within the game were composited with video art works by Sky Goodman, bridging 90s era 3D game graphics with analog video glitch experiments in a rare pastiche of deep aesthetics. // Video Art by Sky Goodman, Scene Design by Sabato Visconti // @skygoodman4 and @sabatobox on twitter //
