Description
One year ago, I discovered hicetnunc. In a random moment, against my natural instinct to be private and keep my creative impulses to myself, I decided to mint some of the digital art I had made. I minted the my 2016 AI art, a tattoo I have on my body. I minted some Pico-8 art based on a simulation of the Three Body Problem. I minted some experiments, some goofs, some serious thoughts and ideas. I never expected to find support, encouragement, and enthusiasm. I didn't expect to find my people.
Some of you have been here with me since the start. You somehow saw what I was doing even before I did. I've always had stories I wanted to tell, but I've never felt like there was a medium that worked for me. Things are messy in here, there's a lot going on and it doesn't always translate well when it's fixed on a page. I don't know how you looked at what I was putting out, and saw the themes even before I did, and told me: just keep telling your stories. Thank you for that.
Some of you are new friends, I haven't yet known you long. Already you've blown me away with your kindness, your open minds, and your willingness to share your thoughts, feelings, and ideas. You inspire me to be better, to simply live and enjoy the mysteries and have fun. Your openness is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
I know we all have a lot going on in our lives, and even more going on in the world. I know maybe things aren't good, to be honest. There's a lot of shit. We don't deserve that, no one does (well maybe I can think of a few people). All I can say is: I believe in what we're building here. I believe in a future where we can all be ourselves, and own our lives. We can always express ourselves here (especially Teia), and they can't take that away from us. More than that, I think we can build communities here, and really support each other. Lift from the bottom up.
If you are receiving this token from me as an airdrop, it's because you beta tested my game, The Trace Gallery. I hope this token can serve as a reminder to you of the gratitude I feel, and also of the fact that this game (which I love, let's be real I'm super excited about this) literally would not be the same without you. The feedback that each of you gave me was actually, factually, absolutely critical in making this thing work. I'm sorry that it was such a mess at first... to be fair I've never made a video game before.
I'm also holding a couple edition in case I missed anyone (sorry, it's a personal project so I don't really take notes), and a couple for IRL beta testers who don't yet have Tezos wallets (I know right?).
