Description

Entomophobia means ‘fear of insects.’ People with this phobia feel anxious when they think about, see or encounter particular insects such as spiders or bees. This piece definitely riffs off over-dramatised moments in retro low budget horror movies, which aimed for cheap scares using the lowest common denominator tropes. Whilst phobias are a serious matter, in this case my rendering is definitely trying to capture a ridiculous and lighthearted tone via the superficial portrayals of phobias in popular culture.
