Anna Lucia

Description

As an artist and engineer, Anna Lucia feels most comfortable in a space where logic and creativity collide. Anna Lucia often draws comparisons between women's craft and generative art in her work. Patchwork results from an intimate examination of the waste she creates while making art. Her computer harddrive is a wasteland of all her previous projects, littered with screenshots of half-finished works and folders full of outputs that didn't make the final cut. Reminiscent of the fabric scraps left behind on the floor of someone working with textiles. The digital scraps became the inspiration for Patchwork. The result is a daring and charismatic generative artwork, in some iterations cluttered with layers and colors, in others calm and minimal—neither intrinsically better nor worse. The choice is yours. Dependencies: p5.js & CCapture.js Extras: s: saves the current frame as PNG l: saves 180 frames as individual PNG files; these files can be post-processed into a looping video License: CC BY-NC-ND 4.0
