I. The Mechanics of the Artwork: From Gesture to Animation "The artwork is no longer an aesthetic end in itself, but an active device." In this piece, the palimpsest technique becomes a technology of the mind. The basis is a photograph of an acrylic painting—capturing the texture, the imperfections, the raw expressionist gesture. On this foundation, the digital intervention (digital painting and minimalist animation) acts as an augmented reality of the soul. This hybrid process reflects our own contemporary existence: we are biological bodies navigating digital flows. The stop-motion animation, jerky and minimalist, recalls the beginnings of cinema while evoking the refresh rate of our modern screens, creating a time loop in which Van Gogh is constantly "becoming." II. The Inner Conversation: Politics and Psyche The artwork imposes a slowing down. In a fast-paced society where the "guardians of democracy" seem to be losing their minds, the artwork functions as a critical mirror. It asks: "Where is your common sense?" The dialogue is not between the viewer and the image, but between the viewer and their own "Self" through the image. Sub-realistic abstraction bypasses verbal language (often corrupted by politics) to directly touch our intuition. It is a form of contemplative activism without any subtext or political statement of any kind. III. Xanthopsia: An Esoteric Reinterpretation The yellow vision (Xanthopsia) unifies the collection. In esotericism, yellow corresponds to the solar plexus chakra (willpower, personal power, intellect). By saturating the vision with this hue, or by playing on its nuances, the artwork seeks to "heal" the viewer's perception. It is an attempt at transmutation. By reinterpreting Van Gogh—an artist who suffered from his own sensitivity (and for this reason I fully understand)—I show that pain (the underlying dark layers) can coexist with beauty (the yellow light). This is the ultimate duality: harmony arises from tension, just as animation arises from the still image.
