Description

Collection - Ghosts of the Prairies Title - Octagonal Edition 25/25 1 tez Medium - Polaroid 669ER Expired Film Artist/Photographer - Stephen Murphy aka The Polaroid Guy The Collection In 2008 I set off on a road trip from Calgary AB, Canada to the western edge of Ontario, the Canadian Sheild area. To and fro I captured grain elevators on film in MB, SK & AB. These were shot on Fuji Velvia CN slide film. Once back home in the studio I used the slides to create Polaroid images on EXPIRED 669ER film using Daylab Slide Printer. Many images have film aberrations, colour shift and other flaws. The resulting images were what I was hoping for: A ghostly, weathered look mimicing the grain elevators themselves. It has taken me 18 years to get to this point where I feel comfortable in sharing these with you. I hope you enjoy this journey as I release them 2 a day over 20 days: One standard Polaroid & one double exposure Polaroid. Artist Bio: Multidisciplinary visual artist specializing in Polaroid images including analog and digital. Printmaker, book-artist, woodworker and photographer.
