Description

A satirical, modern reimagining of the classic Slavic fairy tale "Kolobok". In the original folklore, Kolobok is a sentient round loaf of bread who brags about escaping the Grandpa, the Grandma, the Hare, the Wolf, and the Bear. He thought he was unstoppable—until he met the Fox, who used flattery to trick him into jumping right onto her tongue. This piece subverts the tale into a dark pop-surrealist vision. The Fox is personified as a sharp, contemporary huntress wearing a traditional mask, while Kolobok is reduced to a helpless, retro-styled lollipop, waiting for the final crunch. The chains around her neck hold the charms of all those who failed the chase before her. Flattery is sweet, but its aftertaste is deadly. Modern folklore, manually drawn. (Procreate)
