Location -31.577672, 130.162145 Bunda Cliff's, South Australia. 210 kilometres (130 miles) long and 60 to 120 metres (200-390 feet) high, and made of Cenozoic age fossiliferous limestone, the Bunda Cliffs, also known as the Nullarbor Cliffs, and are a coastal scarp along the Southern Edge of Australia. Perched high above the Southern Ocean, with views all the way to Antarctica, this part of the land is often buffeted by gale force winds, or melted under the Australian Summer sun. With many places to choose from, we have camped atop these high cliffs many times on our 20 odd crossings of the Nullarbor, or Nullus Arbor - the treeless plain. And this time it was just as beautiful despite the haze. Sunset was a delight, the bright orange sun slowly descending to the horizon through cloud, backlighting the ocean spray and haze as it went. And as the sun disappeared, the extreme wind came up to buffet and bash us all night long, but by morning, the haze was gone, leaving us with a stunning view of the cliffs to the West.
