fx(mandala) #76

Description

Outer mandalas represent the universe or world-system and are traditionally offered as thank you gifts. In this case it’s my offering to the fxhash community as a celebration of #fxhashturnsone. SOME MINTS WILL BE GOLDEN TICKETS A golden ticket AND the iteration directly before it will each receive a free 8 x 10in special edition signed physical made from 12 layers of laser cut museum board. Physicals for all mints can be requested and/or claimed at https://alleditions.art Outer Mandalas is part of a broader series I am working on that explores the use of techniques and patterns from sacred geometries using generative randomness. I use generative algorithms to create “blueprints” that can be transferred out of the physical realm and into the real world as multi-layered three dimensional sculptures. I create limited edition physical “prints” for Outer Mandalas by using a high powered laser to precisely cut through 4-ply museum boards (the same stuff you frame a picture with) to create 12 unique layers. I then stack and carefully glue each layer together in order to create a dynamic relief that plays with light and shadow. These pieces are visually engaging artworks that tend to spark conversation whenever they are seen. A big thank you to the fxhash platform team and all the passionate collectors and generative artists I’ve met over the past year. It’s been my honor to be a part of this amazing community. s to save as a layered SVG p to save as a PNG e to explode the layers Click and drag the mouse to change the shadows. This generative is VERY intensive and probably won’t render very well on a mobile device.
