As part of #Tezos4Nature challenge, I'm joining this great effort to spread awareness through my documents.
Unfortunately, mangrove forest facing biggest threat from human being last few decades. Literally shaving off this green cover in the name of development. People are ignorant that this destruction adversely affecting their life bigger scale. Indonesia holds 3.5 million hectares of mangroves, about 23% of the world’s total, and is the most diverse with 92 true mangrove species. Unfortunately, Indonesia experiences significant mangrove loss annually. The majority of loss is driven by mangroves being converted into aquaculture ponds, mostly for shrimp, in Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The remaining loss is due to conversion to palm oil plantation and coastal development for urban expansion.
Why I called Lungs of The Earth?
Because this Blue carbon ecosystems can be up to 10 times more efficient than terrestrial ecosystem at absorbing and storing carbon long term, making them a critical solution in the fight against Global warming & Climate change.
They are best purifier available on the Earth.Not only absorbing massive amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases but also they purify water vastly. Filter nitrates, phosphates and other pollutants from the river and improving water quality.

One of the best habitat for wildlife, birds, fish, invertebrates, apes like Orangutans and Proboscis monkey.
So it is important to emphasis that restoration of mangrove forest is inevitable for Mankind existence on the earth. Recently few NGOs seriously working on restoring mangrove forest across Indonesian islands. I'm proud to say that being part of this venture started by The Nature Conservancy. Indonesian counterpart conducting more seminars and workshops for bring awareness about mangrove forest.

I’m Anil T Prabhakar, a passionate multi-genre visual artist. Native of Ponnani at Kerala in India. I have been working and living in Indonesia for the past 13 years. My passion for Photography which derived from the Arts. I have little ability to work in Pencil, Oil, and Acrylic mediums. I can say, for the last 15 years I have been clicking photos in all genres. I believe that every photo has to say something. But currently seriously working on a few documentary projects based on conservation and Ethnic people in Indonesia. I published one Coffee table book titled “The Beauty and Bleakness of Mount Bromo”. As an achievement, one of my photographs “Helping Hand: Humanity” (Orangutan Photo) was published in several countries' Newspapers, Tabloids, and Television mediums. Media Giant like BBC and CNN, etc. I have completed 40+ international Exhibitions in EU and Southeastern countries in collaboration with Muse, Guru Shots, and other curation platforms.
