A 1/1 procedural plotter drawing 'typed' in landscape and then rotated 90°. The drawing was constructed using the following program (as notated in the title): move 6 lines down, then 5 lines up, 1 across and repeat 5 or 6 times, then move 1 across, 2 up, 1 down, and repeat 4 or 5 times. Following this, fill in the space randomly. The drawing was made by repurposing an ordinary typewriter to behave like an electronic plotter. By placing a pen tip in the eye above the typewriter guide I was able to draw lines of different lengths by guiding the paper in any direction using the roller, the space-bar, the tab, the shift and the backspace keys. A number of processes and algorithms were explored in these drawings. They explore the expression of difference within the bounds of repetition and the measure of freedom within the limits of constraint. This work was created in 2023 on a Silver Reed SR 100 Tabulator mechanical typewriter. Purchase of the digital token includes corresponding physical typed artwork(s) which will be sent to the owner. Upon resale of the token, the transfer of the physical work is deemed optional and is negotiable between parties involved.
