Towering skyscrapers line the Chicago River, but one building is not like the others. Due to a shortage of available land afforded by zoning for greenspace and a train right-of-way, architects had a very narrow footing on which to build this giant tower. Known colloquially as the "Tuning Fork" or "The Champagne Flute" this massive high rise is supported by a ground floor just one-twentieth the size of its upper floors. The architectural marvel is not only fascinating, but beautiful in its ability to reflect the urban beauty that surrounds it. Photograph taken July 10, 2022 at 11:18 a.m.
