Description

CONFIG is an abstract collection that playfully imagines the many different structures multi-dimensional reality might take. Think of it as minimalism meets metaphysics meets maths homework. CONFIG 002 refers to an undoing of linear structure - suggesting a universe in which all things happen at once. This uni-verse* is rendered as a fractal dance that places 'now' and 'then' in the same hypnotic conception. Separation is an illusion. (p.s. *uni-verse = one song, a cute idea but also a direct reference to the one song you should listen to, when high, whilst watching the animation, and contemplating this concept - Shelter Song, by Temples) Recommended subjects to explore for this collection include 'parallel worlds', 'block universe', and 'computational reality'. I'd also recommend reading 'Flatland'. CONFIG 002 is represented by the following original poem/story: -------- ALL AT ONCE As it turned out, time wasn't separated by moment, but by mere suggestion. And if you looked closely enough you could see its seams as pixel stitching. Life was like a movie, after all. Every frame, already prepared and delivered one at a time. Experience rendered in minute detail, from a single spool of finely spun 'all'. The realisation was like dust at the back of my throat. A cloying need for water and to escape myself - to escape the linearity of life, and return to that dance... A lyric: 'Temporal hiccup, now becomes then - and I see you for the first time all over again.' I grab the guitar, and soothe myself with a notion as much naive as it is musical. Just like every frame of the movie exists, whichever frame is on-screen - so to are 'we' eternity, because 'being', is always made from 'been'. ------------
