Hoisting my failures before me, to further break my spirit. 

Strangling my voice into a silent mouthing of words. 

Erasing me. 

Contorting self-worth into disrepair. 
Leading deeper into uncertainty...

The context of this piece is meant to draw out emotion in the viewer. Some may feel sad, nostalgic, upset, relatable, etc. The one thing i wanted to accomplish with this one is to make others feels SOMETHING when they see it.

It has symbolism that points to the message, like the broken door lock, the car accident, keys dropped on the floor, the demonic side of the man's head who is drunk on power over him, the baby pepe hiding under the table, the letter on top of the table, the beer bottle used as a last minute flower vase, messages written in the walls named after unreleased Moments in Abstraction.

I think all of these things accumulated- represent parts of me in various stages of my life. Unpacking what perhaps could have been if I hadn't began to deal with my internal battles/addictions/recklessness from young adulthood leading up to fatherhood.

Accumulation of the Inevitable...

Against all odds, we exist...

Yet we willfully waste away with the mundane and material. 
We destroy the very beauty we document in literature.
Move at speeds in which we simply cannot appreciate anything.

If we leave room for life to happen around us-
The creatures of the forest, sea and sky
Will return to rebuild.
