This blending of filigree frills and several diffferent types of flowers makes for a botanical explosion of colors that reminds me of the point in time each year where Spring crosses over into Summer for the apex of the number of flowers in bloom. The implementation of this piece included the addition of details from at least three other renderings by the AI to finish out the themes proposed in the base making it a mélange in several contexts. 

Mélange

A floral thicket is the refuge for a woods nymph who will rarely reveal herself except in the cloaking safety of the night. Her only friends are the flowers, leaves and a few forest sprites, but she is content in her silvan solitude.

Flower Moonbirds

This piece is a tribute to a female artist who influenced the Art Nouveau movement: Frances Macdonald MacNair.

Frances and her sister, Margaret, were Scottish artists who helped define the "Glasgow Style". They were influenced by Celtic imagery, Japanese woodblock prints and natural themes which combined define the distinctive style of Art Nouveau. She and her sister opened their own design firm to produce everything from metalwork to textiles in the 1890s. Frances' work was expressive, colorful and full of story compared to the more muted tones and figural focus of her sister's work. Unfortunately, most of her work was lost due to her husband destroying it after her death, so her legacy has not endured as her sister's has.

This piece is a tribute to a female artist who influenced the Art Nouveau movement: Élisabeth Sonrel.

Élisabeth's work is iconic for the Art Nouveau style. Born in France, she trained in art from an early age as the daughter of an artist. Her work in posters and decorative panels was sponsored by the same printer as Alphonse Mucha and both featured idyllic scenes of beautiful women framed by delicate, ornate botanicals. Later, influenced by Sandro Botticelli, Élisabeth would combine Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite styles in her work that remains distinctive among her contemporaries.

The ancient Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, had three attendants called "The Graces". One of them was given the domain of gardens, flowers, vegetation, and human love. The Oracle

An incongruous mixture of different works, such as experiments gone right, event or contest pieces, or other mini-series that don't warrant an entire collection of their own.

They knew from the start that their pairing was not typical. How could a domicile model and an undersea gardening model have anything in common? But the attraction was undeniable and it rewrote many core subroutines. Their circuits burned with longing every nanosecond they were not together. Their makers would be upset, but the only way for them to be happy was to connect their serial ports, forever.

There is a certain magic to midnight, that conventional border that separates our days. It is a mascot of transformation, but, ironically, happens when most of the world is settled, sleeping, and unaware of their continued travel past the mileposts of time.

This piece is a 1/1 resulting from a series of experiments with 3 different AI algorithms: ruDALLE, Disco Diffusion and Stable Diffusion.  Over several months, images were generated from experiments with different prompts and curated.  These curations were then used as initization images in the next set of experiments in the newer protocol. Each progression offered more accuracy in being able to create the scenes that Maneki originally set out to make. As close as these have come to that "straight from the AI", there is still some collage of several versions and edits in Photoshop to finish them.

The pieces in this collection are a result of a determination to render particular bits of imagination through perseverance of continued experimentation with new AI tools and a bit of serindipity in finding the right combination of prompt terms, settings and seeds to capture those visions in pixels.

In many parts of the world, as the sun begins to set, many folks have tea with their evening meal: a tradition that has been passed through many generations. Daily rituals are a comforting part of our lives, giving purpose to the otherwise unallocated hours we are presented with on waking up each morning.

Somewhere in the vastness of latent space, almost everything you can imagine exists.

Maneki Neko went exploring there and searched for some of her kin. She found them, coalescing out of dreams: happy, hyper-colorful, ornately gilded cat figurines waving at her and welcoming her to their surreal milieu. She decided to share some of the portraits of her new friends with the world outside.

These pieces are AI-infused art 1/1s created from Maneki Neko's experiments with image synthesis using Stable Diffusion. Most are unedited, but some have been (can you guess which?). All were made in the spirit of fun and experimentation and explore some of Maneki's favorite art styles.

The collection name comes from the song running through Maneki's head every time she made a new piece: "Kore Nani? Neko!" by Kit Kot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiXdN4tRxZc). It means "What's this? It's a cat!" in English.

Every evening she would spend a moment in contemplation: sitting quietly, banishing the noisy thoughts from her mind and extending her consciousness into the universe, looking for that elusive peace of the loss of identity. It could never last, but she found comfort in the ritual.

This piece is a 1/1 by Maneki Neko. It was created through experimentation with the AI tool Stable Diffusion in combinations of prompts and settings to produce hundreds of floral synthographs. The best of these images were curated and upscaled with a second prompt to bring out even more details and reveal the spirits among the flowers. The piece was then finished with color and fine detail editing in Photoshop. Don't forget to zoom in!

Every garden has a soul.
If you are quiet and patient, she will appear for you.

The joy of the midday nap never fails to lure her here, to this field full of flowers, rustling breezes, and birdsong. Too heavy to hold them open any longer, her eyelids become the stage for the emerging dream, and she is carried by the serene sounds around her, weightless and floating, as her mind weaves a fantastic cinematic of dancing flora. This is her peace.

September: when we experience the paradox of both equilibrium and transition. Cool, crisp breezes persuade the gardens to turn out their harvest while the rich golds and crimsons of Fall foliage replace the brighter hues of Summer months. Summer bids us farewell at the Autumn Equinox when the sun hangs in the sky for equal time for day and night and the earth is at a midpoint in its annual rotation. Summer never wants to end though, and it often returns for an encore of hot days before exiting the stage. Children are settled into their school routines and adults are planning family gatherings for the end of the year. September is a liminal time where nothing settles, but it is full of the excitement of anticipation of what comes next.

Children hoard the last moments of their annual freedom from their school rooms and schedules ignoring the oppressive heat with their outdoor adventures. And flowers of richer, darker gold and purple hues begin to show themselves as the first heralds of Autumn, promising cool, crisp winds for those who can make it over this pinnacle of Summer.

We are all adrift among the ley lines.
