I used the French description of 'Le dejeuner sur l'herbe' by Edouard Manet on Wikipedia to build my original MidJourney prompt and generate several variations. However, MidJourney banned certain words, and its difficulties to generate complex scenes made it difficult to obtain a non-abstract output.
Here is one of the variation.

I am fascinated by Peter Doig's paintings. 
The idea of this collection is to use descriptions of masterpieces to study the guided interpretation by the AI.
I used the description of 'Swamped' done by Christie's for the LOOKING FORWARD TO THE PAST auction in May 2015 as a prompt and generated several variations. I explore some variations to generate new outputs before finding this one. The result is far from my first idea, but the mix between AI, my intervention, and happy incidents resulted in this wonderful output.
Original prompt: swamped by Peter doig. It captures the mesmerizing atmosphere of a moonlit lagoon, with a mysterious white canoe situated at its heart. marvel at the play of color and texture, fiery red paint spilling over the swamp, edging out forest greens and intermingling with golden yellows in the center of the lagoon.
