M.J. Lindow

M.J. Lindow is a generative artist from the western United States. Living in close proximity to the Rocky Mountains and the deserts of southern Utah, Lindow developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and rugged inhospitable places.

He often incorporates the natural world and the landscapes he loves into his art. Fascinated by using computers, his work shows the hand behind the machine by adding artificial imperfections and ‘hand-drawn’ textures.

'Waiting in Afton', 'Ephemora', and 'Desert Sun Rising' are a few of his notable works.

His latest series is called 'Impasto' minted on Dec 13th, 2022 from Grailers DAO.

There is a German saying: “Morgen - stunde hat Gold im Munde” - “The morning hour gives us gold.”

This universal worship of gold and profit. Greed and insatiability, exploitation and lack of will. But at the same time, there is a hope for a younger generation, which may have very different priorities.

“Morning Hour” is an image of nature that gives us everything necessary for life. But people are greedy, and they are no longer waiting for gifts, they demand them. They pretend that they worship nature, but in fact they kill it.

EXPANSE divides the plane into a grid and extrudes each cell of the grid into cuboids of various dimensions. Each face on each cuboid is colored based on its slant, relative to a light source. Laws of illumination turn this geometrical relation into a numerical value which is subsequently mapped to a location in the color space, giving each face its color.

Auctions were conducted on Manifold, January 3rd-5th, 2023 at a starting price of 30ETH.
