In ancient times, smoke signals were used for long distance communication. Over the years with the advent of communication technology, this died a natural death. As per old records, one puff of smoke was meant to call for attention, and three puffs in a line meant a call for help or indication of danger. As we gaze upon the barren beauty of the landscape, it seems as if nature is calling for mankind’s attention to the danger to our delicate ecosystem and seems to voice a call for help to preserve the pristine beauty of our ecology for all fauna, flora, and future generations of homo sapiens!

'Winged world' explores the eco-scapes of the birds, dwindling under the incessant assault of mankind’s push to adapt the world to itself.
This frame captures a singular bird species encircled within its own diminishing biosphere. As the sphere shrinks so do the no of birds!! The sky, land, and water in the frame highlight the interconnected nature of this ‘ornithosphere’ and calls to mind the significance of all flora, fauna, and the earth as a whole, which has been pushed to the sidelines in the vision for human progress!!!

The Alligator is not technically a hoodoo yet, but a fin. Fins erode away into hoodoos, and The Alligator is almost there. It is not a very well-known geologic formation, though it is considered a very impressive sight to behold. Bryce Canyon National Park is the only place in the world that contains hoodoos. Hoodoos start as tall thin ridges called fins. The fins further erode into large pinnacles of rock that we call hoodoos. After many many years, the hoodoos weaken and fall adding more color to the already beautiful countryside. Some hoodoos fall into some small rivers and their sediments get carried downstream. When the sediment builds up, new hoodoos are made. Hoodoos create a sort of cycle and recycle themselves. What a poignant illustration of the transient nature of life juxtaposed against the infinitesimal viewpoint of human history!!!

Many a Aussie river I panned,
And dug deep into the Ballarat mine,
To get that shiny yellow band,
Which for evermore will make you mine!!!
This is special as I shot with my first ever DLSR while I was traveling in Australia and visited the Ballarat Gold Mine, Victoria in 2007. Ballarat was considered the world's richest alluvial goldfield during its peak between 1852 and 1853.

An enduring exhibit in the museum of time. The exquisite lines
visible in this sandstone canvas embody the history of our earth
and nature, which are delicately transcribed in their meandering
curves. Each of these strokes painstakingly carved over time by
the wind, earth, and water contain within them a detailed chronicle
of times past. These waves bear witness to the prodigious power of
nature, which is paused in time to us mortals but are dynamic and
ever-changing throughout eternity.
