Persepolitan column is the distinctive form of column developed in the Achaemenid architecture of ancient Persia, probably beginning shortly before 500 BCE.
The capitals are carved with two heavily decorated back-to-back animals projecting out from the column. The bull is the most common animal, but there are also lions, bulls with the head of a man and griffins with the heads of eagles and the bodies of lions.

Couple years ago I wished to see what did Persepolis look like around 500 BC.
There were no reconstructed images, so I started to research and reconstructed Persepolis myself. Now I know what Persepolis was like!

This is a CGI reconstruction of the Queen's palace that is one of the palaces of Persepolis.

She is Atossa among her maids. Atossa was an ​Achaemenid empress.
She was daughter of Cyrus the Great and wife of Darius I. 550 - 475 BC

This is a CGI reconstruction of the Tachara palace that is one of the palaces of Persepolis, based on archaeological research.

He is Darius the Great. Darius was an ​Achaemenid emperor.
He was the third Persian King of Kings of the Achaemenid Empire, reigning from 522 BCE until his death in 486 BCE.
