As a big fan of American comics, Verbal designed a ruby encrusted "POW" knuckle ring so he could make his own "POW" punch bubble just like the comics. An instant success in the mid to late 2000s, the POW rings were worn by icons such as A$AP Rocky, Big Sean & Kanye West. A definite cultural artifact.

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 by RTFKT

The Nike Air Force 1 was released in 1982 and designed by Bruce Kilgore. It was the first basketball shoe to use the Nike Air technology. The Air Force 1 was not an instant hit or an overnight success. Only two years after their original release, Nike wanted to discontinue the shoe. When word spread that the Air Force 1 was being discontinued, fans started buying up every pair they could find.

It then became a must have and its popularity has only grown since; becoming a mainstay in music, especially hip-hop where Nelly even released a song about the shoe.

The sneaker has undoubtedly become a cultural icon over the years. Now entering the metaverse thanks to RTFKT, you can own it digitally.

After honing German craftsmanship for over a century, RIMOWA takes its expert techniques to the metaverse with RTFKT in a new collection that features 888 NFTs to be forged into 888 limited-edition physical suitcases — a nod to the number symbolising luck in the crypto community. The release also includes 2222 RTFKT x RIMOWA WorkerBots for Web3 enthusiasts.

The release of these assets marks an important partnership between RTFKT and the LVMH owned luxury luggage manufacturer.

While details regarding forging are limited at present, we know that both NFTs will be more than just collectible.

The "Workerbot" NFT is compatible with RTFKTs Skin Vials, meaning that it should be able to evolve in some way. In addition the description of the WorkerBot says it is "Symbiotic" which suggests we should be able to interact with it too. Maybe in AR or the Metaverse...

Meanwhile the "Meta-Artisan Original Cabin Luggage" is forgeable; holders will be able to claim a physical Rimowa Cabin Suitcase. It has 4 different variations of the NFT (Confidence, Explorer, Vision & Mimic) which suggest they will all reveal something different. Rimowa confirms this, stating "During the forging event, a slew of other assets created by RIMOWA and RTFKT, including four different Avatar Wearables, will be revealed."
