"Anticyclones are a weather phenomena. They pierce through darkness to instill peace and calm. Their planetary scale reminds us of how little we are and how powerful they can be. High pressure, rotation, air flow… The "Anticyclone" series is an artistic exploration and interpretation of those concepts. The rendering borrows its aesthetics from traditional and organic media like paper and crayons, to lend an analog/archival look. 'Can a computer draw like a human?' The question is asked and challenged once more through 'Anticyclone'". -William Mapan
Collector's Corner - The Premier NFT Art Podcast
Most Impactful Categories: Guide, Time, Name
Best Guide traits: Guide 1, Guide 30, Guide 100, Guide 3/4/5 if fully filled or with a symmetric filling pattern (e.g. "window" guide 3s)
Hidden traits: Fully filled out Guide 3, 4, and 5; symmetric guide 3, 4, and 5
Best Time traits: Night, Unknown
Best Name traits: Billie, Nzinga, Elizabeth, Ada (although there are many more)
Impressions: There truly are no bad picks in this collection and the market has reacted explosively to what is on it's way to becoming a blue-chip (many say it is one tier below). Although every piece is beautiful, the categories and traits above command a premium in the market and are visually distinct. When considering a purchase, these are targets we believe could grow in value relative to other pieces in the collection. The market is has traditionally undervalued the guide 10s and some named palettes, as well as hidden traits such as fully-filled guide 3s and symmetric guide 3 / 4 / 5. We believe these could be good targets for the mid to long term.

At their heart, Chromie Squiggles are variations on two basic traits - type and color. Comprised of 6 types and 256 colors, we find practically infinite variation through different compositions of these traits.
The Hall of Collectoooors
Some of the most well-known collectors in the world of NFTs collect Chromie Squiggles. But why? Uniformly, all of these collectors have great respect and admiration for generative art and understand the history of NFTs. Chromie Squiggles are the embodiment of these things. They are excellent examples of generative art - instantly recognizable, yet featuring strong diversity across the collection. And they are historic - created as a genesis collection on one of the most important generative art platforms by its founder. Chromie Squiggles will be taught in art history classes and the influence of Chromie Squiggles, their creator, and the generative art platform through which they were minted cannot be understated.
A Brief Introduction to Chromie Squiggles
Chromie Squiggles are one of three Art Blocks genesis projects, released for minting on November 27, 2020. They were created by Erik "Snowfro" Calderon, who is also the founder of the Art Blocks generative platform. Of the three genesis projects, Squiggles are the largest project (with total possible mints of 10,000 pieces) and were the least expensive to mint upon release, at just 0.035 ETH.
Public minting of Squiggles was halted before the collection was completed, with Snowfro retaining the last 1,000 Squiggles to distribute at his discretion. Of the 1,000 Squiggles that Snowfro originally retained, 624 have now been minted. You can read more about Snowfrow's decision to pause minting here.
A Note About Viewing Squiggles: Squiggles move and change colors! Click each Squiggle to view up close and then click the Squiggle to activate it's features.
When viewed in live mode, you can change the background color from white, through various shades of grey, to black by pressing space bar. You can also control the speed at which the colors change by pressing up and down.
